UPDATE: Russian economic plan envisages extra 3 bln rbl for labor market

CHEBOKSARY, Mar 1 (PRIME) -- The economic plan of the Russian government envisages an additional 3 billion ruble aid to the labor market and reserves of 7 billion rubles, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting on Tuesday.
“The economic incentives program, which I have approved, envisages additional measures to stimulate employment this year. Subsidies from the federal budget to regions will amount to 3 billion rubles, and reserves which may be spent in case of need will stand at 7 billion rubles,” Medvedev said.
Labor and Social Protection Minister Maxim Topilin said citing recent data of the Federal State Statistics Service that unemployment stands at 5.98%, or 4.4 million people, for a third month in a row. “The situation has more or less stabilized,” he said.
The number of people, who were laid off or quit the job in 2015, stands at 500,000, or 2.5% of the number of employed, Topilin said.
At present, the number of people at the risk of unemployment stands at about 500,000, including 301,000 people employed part-time.
